Tour to Mt. Fuji

The tour to Mt. Fuji began on a tour bus. It took 2 hours from Tokyo to reach Mt. Fuji.

Mt. Fuji

Mt. Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan. Formed over 8 thousand years ago. It is covered in snow most of the year. Climbing season is from July 1st till August 26th. The peak of Mt. Fuji is 12,385ft.

Lava Rock

Mt. Fuji has not been activities for 280 years. Imagine this falling from the sky.

Little closer to Mt. Fuji

The tour takes you closer to Mt. Fuji. There are five stations which are reachable by road because of the snow, only the first was available on this day. Usually climbers hike to the top from the fifth station.

Hot Dog Stand

At the second stop this was a stand which sold hot dogs. Hot dogs were served on a stick. I decided to try the squid on a stick instead. The squid was soaked in soy sauce and cooked while you waited. I thought it was pretty good.

Orchids in the Hotel

The hotel we stopped for lunch had these Orchids in the lobby.

Parting shot of Mt. Fuji

Last picture of Mt. Fuji taken from the hotel where the tour stopped to have lunch. It was a sushi lunch, but was not very good.
